The Story

This isn't a credentials page.

It's proof. And it begins with you.

If you're here, you've likely already tried.
Followed programs and plans.
Read the books.
Listened to the podcasts.
Taken advice from people who promised a way forward.

You showed up. You did the work. You wanted it to work.

And still — here you are.

Not because you failed.
Not because you didn't try hard enough.
But because what you were given didn't change what actually needed to change.

I have been in that place.

The effort that goes nowhere.
The frustration of doing everything right and staying the same.
The quiet question of whether this is just how it is.

It isn't.

This was built for that moment.
Not from theory — but from lived experience. From the inside of exactly where you are now.

There is a different way forward.

And it starts here.

Who I Am and Why It Matters

I am not a coach. I am a consultant.
What I do is build systems for real change.

Everything I teach is grounded in research, tested in real life, and applied across every area of my own experience — not just one.

Because transformation isn't driven by knowledge alone.
It's driven by the systems that shape how you live.

My name is Kristy James, founder of Design Your Life Co.
And yes — who I am matters.
Because you deserve to know that the person guiding you hasn't just studied change…

I've lived it.

What I built didn't come from theory, certifications, or watching from the outside.
It came from being inside the exact experience you're in —
trying to change, doing everything "right," and still not getting the result.

I didn't have perfect conditions.
I didn't have extra time, extra money, or extra support that made it easier.
I was working with real constraints. Real pressure. Real setbacks.

And that's exactly why this works.

Because the system I built wasn't designed in ideal circumstances.
It was built to work in real life.
Not when you're at your best — but when you're tired, overwhelmed, and questioning yourself.
Not when everything lines up perfectly — but when it doesn't.

So yes, I could give you a list of certifications or credentials.
But they wouldn't explain what actually matters.

What matters is this:
I found a way to create real, lasting change in the exact conditions that usually stop people.
And then I turned that into a system that other people can follow — and finally get results from.

That's what you're stepping into.

The Story

The Story

You don't have to be ready. You don't have to feel motivated. You only have to decide.

I weighed 130 kilograms.

Not just as a number — but as a reality that shaped everything. What I thought was possible. What I believed I could become. The version of my life I allowed myself to even imagine.

I had tried to change it. Memberships I didn't keep. Approaches that almost worked. Plans that held — until real life happened.

I was considering surgery. Not because I had given up. Because I couldn't find another way.

Then something shifted.

Not through motivation. Not through a story or a quote.

Through evidence.

A woman I knew — someone who had never been able to lose weight, no matter what she tried — was told she needed to lose 20 kilograms before surgery.

She did it.

The woman who had never lost one kilogram, lost twenty.

I watched it happen.

And for the first time, what I believed was impossible no longer was.

So I made a decision.

Not when I was ready. Not when I felt different.

Just a decision — clear and final.

Fourteen months. 130 kilograms to 55 kilograms. 75 kilograms gone. Not through surgery. Through a decision — and continuous refinement until it worked.

It wasn't linear. What worked at the start didn't hold. What I built had to be rebuilt.

I adjusted. Refined. Paid attention. Not to what I thought should work — but to what actually did.

The version that worked looked nothing like the version I began with. Because it wasn't built on assumption. It was built on evidence.

And it didn't stop there.

The same process rebuilt my finances, cleared the debt, bought the property, took me from 100 metres to a half marathon on Christmas morning.

Then it kept going.

Into every corner of a life I was rebuilding from the ground up. The big things and the quiet ones. All of it designed. Some of it still being refined.

Now the question isn't what changed for me.
It's what could change for you.

The Methodology

Everything Is A System

From not being able to drink two glasses of water a day to drinking four litres every single day. From fast food every single meal, every single day, to understanding exactly what I put into my body and why. From dragging myself out of bed with nothing to get up for, to choosing to be awake before 4am. From slowly suffocating in a life I couldn't find a way out of — to building one I chose, decision by decision.

Every single one of those things is a system I designed and implemented. Not motivation. Not willpower. Not a personality type I was born with.

A system.

Water. Sleep. Food. Movement. Finances. The way I start a morning and end a night. The way I get through the hardest moments of my life. Every single one — a system I designed.

I stopped watching television and movies. Not because someone told me to. Because I made a decision about what I wanted to fill my mind with and I implemented a system around that decision. I listen to podcasts that add value. I listen to an audiobook for thirty minutes before I sleep — and the book must teach me something. I eat at specific times. I drink water by specific times.

The way I dress is a system. The way I present is a system. The way I communicate is a system. The way I am becoming the person I intend to become is a system I am implementing.

Some of these things I have mastered. Some of them I am still implementing. All of them began with a decision I was not necessarily ready to make. I made it anyway. Then I built the system. Then I started. Then I kept going until it became normal. Until I stopped having to think about it. Until it was just who I am.

I have not always been this way. I have chosen this path. Every single part of it.

The Truth

The Truth About Motivation

Most people are waiting to feel motivated before they start.

That's not where it begins.

Motivation isn't the starting point. It's the result.

What comes first is a decision. Then something built to support that decision. Then action — however small, however imperfect, however far from what you imagined.

From that, confidence begins to form. And only then does motivation appear. Never before.

If you're waiting to feel motivated enough to begin, you're waiting for something that only arrives after you've started.

That isn't a flaw. It's just the wrong sequence.

Decision. Design. Action. Confidence. Motivation.

Get the foundation right, and everything else follows.

I have never seen lasting change come from motivation alone. I have seen it come from something quieter — a decision made before motivation existed, followed by something strong enough to carry that decision forward until it becomes real.

The Version Of Your Life You Are Looking For

It isn't as far away as it feels. It never was.

The distance between where you are and where you want to be is not a flaw in you. It never has been.

It's a problem of design. And design can change.

You don't have to be ready. You don't have to feel motivated. You don't have to have it all worked out.

You just have to decide.
